Product Overview

KV Electronics Air Coils (Air Core Inductors) are precision-wound coils with no magnetic core material, offering zero core losses and highly stable inductance values unaffected by magnetic saturation. These characteristics make them ideal for high-frequency RF circuits, wireless power transfer, and antenna tuning where linearity and Q-factor are critical.

Wound with high-conductivity copper wire (single, litz, or multi-strand), KV Air Coils are available in solenoid, toroidal, and multilayer configurations. Custom winding specifications including wire gauge, turns count, form factor, and termination style are available for OEM applications.

Key Features

  • No core losses — inductance stable vs. current and frequency
  • High Q-factor: 50 – 500+ (depending on frequency)
  • Inductance range: 1nH – 100μH
  • Wire: copper, litz wire, or silver-plated
  • Configurations: solenoid, toroidal, multilayer, flat spiral
  • Self-resonant frequency (SRF): up to several GHz
  • Custom bobbin or self-supporting (air-wound)

Applications

  • AM/FM radio tuning circuits
  • Wireless power transfer (Qi standard)
  • RF filter and matching networks
  • NFC antenna coils (13.56MHz)
  • Tesla coil secondary windings
  • High-frequency resonant circuits
